Earlier this year, my husband and I decided to cut way back on our sugar intake. Not to the extreme that we cut out natural sugars in fruit, but we did cut out desserts, soft drinks. etc.
That was before the holidays. Before the Snack Factory’s White Chocolate Peppermint Pretzels.
My life changed forever the day I spotted them in Target sitting on the shelf beside the Cinnamon covered almonds and pecans. Little did I know that in that way-too-small package was a huge addiction. Then again, maybe that’s why they made the packaging so small – to avoid overdose. Because, trust me, eating an entire package in one sitting is definitely doable.
Staring into the empty package for the first time, I wondered why I was so weak? Why couldn’t I stop at one quarter – or even one half – of the bag? Why did I have to eat them all?
When I was young, my parents taught me to share , yet I couldn’t imagine giving up even one to the man I loved most in the world. Did that mean I loved the pretzels more than my husband?
I guess I should thank the Snack Factory for only distributing them during the holidays. Forcing me into withdrawal is the only way to get me to stop eating them.
Then again, I could buy a freezer and stock up…
Goodbye iced, cookie-cutter sugar cookies. Hello Snack Factory’s White Chocolate Peppermint Pretzels. A match made in Target.
